Amazon opens new Consumer Robotics Software Development Center in Bengaluru

Amazon has announced that it is establishing a new Consumer Robotics Software Development Center in Bengaluru to support the company’s expanding consumer robotics division and attract top talent to work on cutting-edge technology products. Amazon is holding a virtual event called Amazon Device: All About Astro for members of the press and people who are interested in robotics. This is to celebrate the launch of the site.

Amazon Astro, the company’s first robot from the robotics division, was released in 2021. It was created for home monitoring and includes an Alexa build-in. It also employs advanced navigation technology and can be used to monitor specific rooms, people, or things in a home remotely. According to Amazon, this development centre will support the existing robot.

The Amazon Devices: All About Astro virtual event will happen on June 2 from 9 to 10 a.m. IST to launch this new centre. The event is free and open to the public, and it is aimed at anyone interested in working in consumer robotics or who is a fan of consumer robotics.

At the virtual event, Amazon Consumer Robotics executives will discuss a variety of topics, including what it’s like to work at Amazon, the development of Astro, the future of consumer robotics, and more. During the event, there will be pre-recorded Astro demos.
