HTC confirmed at the MWC earlier this year that it is working on a line of innovative smartphones that can be used to join Viverse, the company’s animated virtual world. It was supposed to launch in April, but the company said that it has been delayed due to the pandemic.
Today, the company has scheduled “Login Future” event on June 28th where it is expected to introduce the 5G phone integrated with VIVERSE, HTC’s metaverse platform.
We still don’t have any details about the phone, but a device with the model 2QBK200 passed through Dutch certification agency Telefication in May. HTC 15W wireless charger with the model number UW01 passed through NCC in April, so the phone could support wireless charging.
The company had already launched Exodus series of native blockchain smartphone. This time the company has teamed with prominent worldwide telecom firms including China Mobile, Etisalt, Hutch Group, and Zai Group to create Viverse, an animated virtual world, and work on the new smartphones, in addition to Taiwan’s Chunghwa Telecom, Taiwan Mobile, and FarEasTone, according to the firm.
