WhatsApp has introduced a new update for their iOS and Android app that adds the ability to mute participants and message specific people in a voice call. Along with this, the update also adds an indicator when a person joins a call.
With the new update, when users are on a group voice call, there is a new option to mute or message individual participants in the call. This can be very helpful when some participant forgot to mute themselves, or their microphone is simply too noisy. The option will be available to every participant in the group call, and will not be limited to the host of the call.
Along with this, WhatsApp also added a notification message that will show to all the voice call participants when a new person has joined. The notification will pop up at the bottom of the screen.
The feature is rolling out gradually to all users on iOS and Android starting today.
