Fitbit Premium gets Sleep Profile for deeper sleep analysis

Google has announced the release of Sleep Profile, a new feature for Fitbit Premium users that provides a new longitudinal analysis of your sleep patterns. The Sleep Profile feature uses cute animal characters to help you understand your sleep data. This will assist you in taking steps to improve your sleep quality, and thus your overall health.

This feature, according to Google, is supported by sleep science, and it analyses sleep across 10 key metrics each month, calculates trends, and compares them to what’s typical for your age and gender, so you can see where you can improve.

To help you understand your sleep data, the Sleep Profile feature employs cute animal characters. It enables Premium members to gain more insight into their sleep habits through their associated sleep animal and discover long-term trends in their habits in order to improve their sleep.

The Parrot, Tortoise, Dolphin, Hedgehog, Giraffe, and Bear are the six animal archetypes chosen for their distinct trends that correlate each animal’s behaviour with common user sleeping behaviours and patterns.

To use this new feature, you must sleep with your Fitbit device for at least 14 nights per calendar month, and you’ll receive a monthly sleep analysis in which they can see ideal ranges for people their age and gender, as well as where they fall within each—allowing them to see where they can improve.

Sleep Profile will be available in the Fitbit app to Premium users who own a Sense, Versa 3, Versa 2, Charge 5, Luxe, or Inspire 2 device when it launches. During the week of July 4, users will receive their first profile. Following that, they will receive a new profile every month on the first of the month via the Fitbit app.
