According to a blog post by the company, Google notes that starting next week for English users worldwide, we’re rolling out a variety of improvements to Search to make it simpler for people to locate useful content created by, and also for, people.
These rankings work complements a previous year’s ranking of higher quality product review content, which will also get an upgrade. Better ranking of original, quality content
Additionally, Google promises to keep search updated to ensure that it is assisting you in finding high-quality material. The “helpful content update” will be released the week after next to deal with content that seems to have been made only for search engine optimization and not to help or inform users.
“In our testing, we have found that this ranking improvement will particularly enhance results linked to online education, as well as arts and entertainment, retail, and tech-related material,” said Google. It added that it will help ensure that unoriginal, low-quality content does not rank prominently in search.
For example, you may have encountered articles that gathered movie reviews without adding new opinions. If you want anything new, this isn’t useful. This update shows more original, real results, so you’re more likely to read something new.
More helpful product reviews written by experts
Making a purchase decision might be influenced significantly by the product reviews. The company started a series of improvements last year to display more beneficial, in-depth reviews based on first-hand experience in search results. According to Google, this move is part of a larger, continuing effort to reduce low-quality content and make it simpler to access stuff in search that feels genuine and relevant.

According to the blog post by Danny Sullivan, Public Liaison for Search, Google
We work hard to make sure the pages we show on Search are as helpful and relevant as possible. To do this, we constantly refine our systems: Last year, we launched thousands of updates to Search based on hundreds of thousands of quality tests, including evaluations where we gather feedback from human reviewers.
We hope these updates will help you access more helpful information and valuable perspectives on Search. We look forward to building on this work to make it even easier to find original content by and for real people in the months ahead.
