India Smart TV shipments up 74% YoY in Q2 2022; OnePlus records 123% YoY growth in H1 2022: Report

According to Counterpoint Research’s IoT research, OnePlus has emerged as the smart TV brand with India’s highest shipment growth in the first half of 2022, with an astounding 123% YoY growth rate. Overall, the smart TV market in India grew 74% YoY in Q2 2022.

Xiaomi led India’s smart TV market in Q2 2022 with a 13% share, followed by Samsung with a 12% share. OnePlus took the third spot for the very first time with an 8% share, growing 187% YoY in Q2 2022, thanks to Y1 Series. LG had a 7.5% share, and TCL smart TV shipments more than doubled YoY in Q2 202.

A larger market share for OnePlus in the category has been claimed as a result of consumers’ increasing choice for high-end, affordably priced smart TVs that provide a good user experience and expanding cross-channel sales.

As a result, OnePlus would rank among the top three manufacturers of smart TVs in India in Q2 2022, according to a report by Counterpoint Research.

  • The OnePlus TV Y1, Y1S, Y1S Pro, and Y1S Edge delivered as the brand’s main volume drivers. OnePlus specifically had an exceptional pace of growth of over 250% YoY on its sales in the sub-INR 30,000 pricing range, according to the research.
  • Additionally, among the top 10 best-selling smart TV models in Q2 2022 were the OnePlus TV Y1, Y1S, and Y1S Pro.

To recall, this year, OnePlus unveiled the eagerly awaited OnePlus TV Y1S and Y1S Edge in 32- and 43-inch models with prices starting at INR 15,999, as well as the OnePlus TV Y1S Pro, an addition to the Y Series line-up, in 43- and 50-inch models with prices starting at INR 29,999 and INR 32,999.
