Wings, Optiemus partner for ‘Make in India’ audio, gaming products

Wings, a manufacturer of gaming and audio devices, has announced a partnership with Optiemus Electronics, an Indian electronics manufacturer, to produce a line of products locally. With this plan, Wings would make all of its products, like sound bars, speakers, keyboards, and almost all of its other computer and gaming accessories, in India.

The cutting-edge production facility of Optiemus Electronics in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, which can presently produce 1.5 million TWS earbuds each month, will be extremely beneficial to the cooperation.

In the coming months, the alliance will start by making TWS earbuds. Then, soundbars, speakers, keyboards, and almost every other computer and gaming device will be made available.

Announcing the collaboration, Nishit Sharma, CEO of Wings said,

Ever since our first product itself, our consumers have looked up to us with greater expectations. Wings’ audio and gaming gear are one of the best in their respective segments and we aim to give our customers more than what they love and deserve.

Till now, we have sourced our products manufactured from overseas sources, but with the great initiative by PM Modi being an inspiration to thousands of Indian businesses now we want to become completely independent and manufacture our products, right here in UP, India. We want our Indian Gamers to have resources made from their own country and use something they can be extremely proud of.

Speaking on the partnership, Nitesh Gupta, Director, Optiemus Electronics Ltd. said,

We are excited to partner with Wings, which has gained popularity in a very short duration among its target customers. This partnership is a testimony to the growing belief and real adoption of Atmanirbhar Bharat on the ground in electronics manufacturing.

The market for wearables/hearables has grown significantly in the last few years with the rising aspirations of Indian youth, which is quite unique. At Optiemus, we are also happy to notice that as per the recent counterpoint report, Optiemus led the ‘Made in India’ smartwatches segment, accounting for more than 75% shipments in Q1 FY23.
