Hero MotoCorp today launched its Vida V1 series electric scooters in India. These come in Vida V1 Plus and Vida V1 Pro models that offer 3.44kWh and 3.94 kWh removable batteries, promising 143 km and 165 km IDC range, respectively.
The removable battery is tested for multiple tests like drop, crush, nail penetration and more. Vida says that the BMS passes 570 tests and has lifetime adaptive learning architecture that enhances battery longevity.
The Vida V1 series come with Eco, Ride and Sport riding modes. The company promises 100+ combinations of custom modes. These have a large 7-inch screen, offers navigation, seamless smartphone connectivity, cruise control, S.O.S alert and a two-way throttle for reverse mode.
The scooters have 26L boot space for a helmet, 90lx LED headlamps, follow me home light, to guide your path when light conditions are too low, and the Key Fob lets you unlock your vehicle and boot space and also switch on the headlight.
The companion app shows the scooter’s health, charging stations, lets you track the scooter and offers trip analytics.
Both these have 80 KM top speed and the Pro model can do 0-40kmph in just 3.2 second, faster than the 3.3 seconds in Ather 450X Gen 3. The V1 Plus can do 0-40kmph in 3.4 seconds. Vida claims that it can charge 0 to 80% in 65 minute via its fast charging network. With the bundled portable charger that will work with any standard 5A socket board, 0-80% charge will take less than 6 hours.
Pricing and availability
The Vida V1 Plus is priced at Rs. 1,45,000 and the V1 Pro costs Rs. 1,59,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) including FAME II subsidy and the portable charger.
Bookings will begin from October 10th for a price of Rs. 2,499 for Bengaluru, Delhi and Jaipur and the roll-out will begin from the second week of December.
The company claims a 70% buyback assurance for the duration of 16-18 months.
