Microsoft has unveiled the Surface Pro 9 2-in-1 tablet PC as expected. The Surface laptop marks the company’s tenth anniversary of Surface products. The newest Surface Pro 9 is built on the Intel EVO platform. For the first time, Microsoft is bringing 5G connectivity to Surface laptops with SQ3 Arm-powered processors. You could, however, choose Intel’s 12th Gen Core processors for the Surface Pro 9.
The 13-inch PixelSense Flow display on the Surface Pro 9 has a 3:2 aspect ratio. The display can be refreshed at a rate of up to 120Hz. Under the display will be an HD camera, Omnisonic speakers, directional microphones, and a custom G6 chip that uses tactile signals to take inking to the next level.
The Surface Pro 9 has two processor options: a 12th-generation Intel Core processor built on the Intel EVO platform with Thunderbolt 4 or a Microsoft SQ3 powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon with 5G connectivity. With a 2nd-generation Intel Core processor, the laptop is said to offer 50% more performance than the Surface Pro 8.
Microsoft’s SQ3-powered Surface Pro 9 is said to have an ultra-long battery life of up to 19 hours. Additionally, the processor will also include a new Neural Processing Unit (NPU) that is capable of more than 15 trillion calculations per second.
The Surface Pro 9 features a high-quality aluminium casing in new colours. To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Surface, Microsoft has collaborated with the London-based global design house “Liberty” to bring a limited-edition Surface Pro keyboard and laser-etched Surface Pro 9 with a bright blue floral pattern inspired by the Windows 11 Bloom to select markets.
