The phone has a 6.7-inch Quad HD+ OLED LTPO screen with 10-120Hz variable refresh rate, same as the Pixel 7 Pro, but this has up to 1500 nits brightness, making it 25% brighter than the predecessor. The screen is bright, and the viewing angles are good. It has Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
You can also see the tiny bottom bezel, but the bezels on the sides and the top are minimal. It runs Android 13. The company has promised 5 years of security updates for the phone, and it should get 3 years of OS updates.
There is a centre punch-hole display that houses an 10.8MP camera with support for 4K video recording. The earpiece on the top doubles up as the secondary speaker. The front camera also works for face unlock, but is not secure, so you can’t enable it for secured payments. The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner, which is the same as the Pixel.
It has the Google Tensor G2 SoC along with Titan M2 security chip. This is slightly faster than the first gen, and the performance is good.
The phone has a zirconia-blasted polished aluminum frame compared to matte finish in the Pixel 7, so this attracts fingerprints. You can see the antenna bands around the phone. The power button and volume rockers are present on the right side. The single SIM slot is present on the left side, and the phone has eSIM support. The phone has 5G support, but Google has not enabled 5G in India yet, however it has confirmed that it will get an update soon. The USB Type-C port, microphone and speaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top.
The phone has a metal camera bar with a matte finish. This has a 50MP main camera with f/1.85 aperture and OIS. There is a secondary 12MP 114° Ultra-wide camera with f/2.2 aperture which is an autofocus camera with macro option. There is a 48MP telephoto camera with support for 5x optical zoom and 30x digital zoom compared to 4x optical zoom and 20x digital zoom compared to Pixel 6 Pro.
It has up to 4K 60 fps video recording for the front and rear cameras. In addition to Night Sight, Top Shot, Motion Auto Focus, Live HDR+, Cinematic Pan, there is Photo unblur, Cinematic Blur for portrait video, and 10-bit HDR video recording that also works with Snap, TikTok and YouTube.
