After starting pre-reservations for the Ola S1 in August, Ola Electric has introduced the Ola S1 Air, the company’s latest entry-level electric scooter. This has the same design as the S1, but comes with a smaller 2.5kWh battery with Indian Drive Cycle (IDC) range of 101 KM, true range of 100 KM in Eco Mode, and has normal and sports mode. It has a top speed of 85 kmph compared to 95kmph as the S1.
It offers 4.5kW of peak power and can go from 0 to 40kmph in 4.3 seconds. The scooter weighs just 99Kg, which is 25Kgs lighter than the Ola S1 Pro and has 34L buddy space under the seat. It has a 7.0-inch TFT touchscreen display, is powered by an Octa-Core processor with 3GB of RAM.
There is also 4G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support, and it comes loaded with MoveOS 3 bringing several features. It has a front telescopic fork and rear twin suspension, but it only has drum brakes and misses the disk brakes.
MoveOS 3 beta for S1 and S1 Pro
The company already said that MoveOS 3 with features such as hill hold, proximity unlock, moods, regen v2, hypercharging, calling, and key sharing MoveOS 3 will be available to both S1 and S1 Pro consumers this Diwali. The company started MoveOS 3 beta registration on its site today, and the roll-out will begin for all the S1 and S1 Pro consumers by early December.
Pricing and availability
The Ola S1 Air comes in Neo Mint, Jet Black, Coral Glam, Porcelain White, and Liquid Silver colours and is is priced at Rs. 84,999, which is the introductory price, says the company.
The company started pre-reservations on its website on October 22nd, and you can pay Rs. 999 to reserve it. Those who reserve it on or before October 24th can get it for Rs. 79,999.
The purchase window for the Ola S1 Air will open in February 2023 and the deliveries will begin in early April 2023.
Ola S1 global roll out
The Ola S1 will be available in Nepal by the end of 2022 and will expand to Europe and Latin America in early 2023.
