Rumours about the upcoming Galaxy S23 series are increasing as the launch inches closer. According to the latest rumour, the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s display could offer peak brightness of 2,150 nits or more, and the maximum brightness could be over 2,200 nits. To remind you, the Galaxy S22 Ultra offers peak brightness of 1750 nits.
According to leaker who goes by the name RGcloudS, this will not beat the 2160Hz ultra-high frequency PWM dimming offered in the BOE Q9 panel that is used in most phones. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra could get, 1920Hz PWM dimming, or it might be 1440Hz which vivo offers in X90 Pro+.
Even though Apple says that the iPhone 14 Pro series offers 2000 nits peak brightness, according to DisplayMate it can reach up to 2,307 nits. It is not clear if Samsung will advertise it as 2000 nits.
Based on earlier rumours, the Galaxy S23 Ultra could retain the 6.8-inch QHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 1-120Hz LTPO display.
