After rumors, MediaTek has officially introduced the Dimensity 8200, the company’s latest SoC in the 8000 series, after a slight delay. The successor to the Dimensity 8100 uses 4nm-class process, offering improved power efficiency compared to 5nm.
It has an Octa-Core CPU with 1 x Arm Cortex-A78 prime core operating at up to 3.1 GHz, 3x Arm Cortex-A78 performance core at 3.0GHz and 4x Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores at 2.0GHz while retaining Mali-G610 graphics engine.
It has HyperEngine 6.0 gaming technologies for a smooth gameplay without connection drops, FPS jitter, or gameplay hiccups and the Intelligent Display Sync 2.0 technology intelligently adjusts the display refresh rate according to the game frame rate detected, which helps provide smoother viewing experiences. The 8200 retains the APU 580 (MediaTek 5th Generation AI processor).
There is Imagiq 785 ISP that supports 320MP photos, 14-bit HDR video on up to three cameras simultaneously, and recording cinematic video by double camera capture for the most natural bokeh effect.
It has built-in 5G modem with s the latest 3GPP Release-16 standard technology and 3CC carrier aggregation to amplify sub-6GHz performance. The chipset also supports tri-band Wi-Fi 6E and 2×2 antenna.
