Rumours about the upcoming Apple iPhone SE 4 have been circulating for the past few months. The phone was supposed to be released in 2024, but the most recent report suggests that the production schedule for this device has changed.
Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst, claims that the company is likely to cancel or postpone the mass production plan for the 2024 iPhone SE 4. He gives two main reasons for this plan.
The first is that fewer mid- to low-end iPhones, such as the iPhone SE 3, iPhone 13 mini, and others, are being shipped. The second reason could be that the upcoming SE 4 will have a larger screen (5.7″-6.1″).
According to Display Chain Analyst Ross Young, the upcoming iPhone SE 4 will have an iPhone XR-like design with a larger screen that could be OLED. However, this would eventually raise the selling price. As a result, the current iPhone SE product positioning has to be shifted.
Furthermore, given the impending global economic downturn in 2023, this decision would force Apple to reduce development and production costs like many other tech companies like Google.
We should get more information regarding this matter in the coming months.
