Qualcomm Snapdragon Satellite world’s first two-way messaging solution for Smartphones announced

Qualcomm Technologies unveiled Snapdragon Satellite at CES 2023, the world’s first satellite-based two-way messaging solution for premium smartphones. Snapdragon Satellite will connect people all over the world through mobile messaging, starting with devices based on the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform.

The new technology, which will be powered by Snapdragon 5G Modem-RF Systems and supported by the fully operational Iridium® satellite constellation, will enable OEMs and other service providers to deliver truly worldwide coverage. Iridium’s weather-resistant L-band spectrum is utilized for both uplink and downlink by the smartphone solution.
