Samsung adds 360 Audio Recording for Galaxy Buds2 Pro, Camera Controller for Galaxy Watch4 and Watch5

Samsung Electronics announced new software updates for the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Watch series that enhance content capturing capabilities for Galaxy users.

These updates, which include 360 Audio Recording and an improved Camera Controller, further strengthen the already powerful camera on Galaxy smartphones.

360 Audio Recording

The new 360 Audio Recording feature allows users to record sound on video exactly as they hear it, by pairing the Galaxy Buds2 Pro with a Galaxy smartphone, enabling users to capture high-quality and realistic audio for videos without the need for professional equipment.

The feature uses a microphone in each earbud to pick up 360-degree sound, immersing the viewer in the middle of a crowded festival or a forest stream. The lifelike and immersive sound can be experienced by plugging in connected headphones and playing back the video on a device or social media channel, simulating an in-person experience.

  • 360 Audio Recording is the first feature in the Galaxy line that utilizes LE Audio, an advanced new Bluetooth audio standard which provides better audio quality, lower latency and longer battery life.
  • LE Audio also enables binaural recording on Galaxy Buds2 Pro, by using the left and right mics simultaneously. When paired with a Galaxy Z Flip4 or Z Fold4, users can immerse themselves in the moment with high-quality stereo audio and video.
Camera Controller

The Galaxy smartphones photography and videography features are designed to give users creative control in any situation. An example of this is the Camera Controller app on the Galaxy Watch, which allows users to control their phone’s camera from their wrist.

  • A new update for the Galaxy Watch5 and Watch4 series will soon add zoom capabilities to the Camera Controller, further expanding the camera experience when paired with a Galaxy smartphone and watch.
  • Users can now remotely control their phone’s camera zoom by pinch the watch face or turning the rotating bezel, making it easier to take group selfies or group shots from a distance without having to go back and forth to the camera to adjust the frame.
Availability

The 360 Audio Recording feature will be gradually released on the Galaxy Buds2 Pro and Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 through software updates starting today.

On the other hand, the updated Camera Controller feature will be available on the Galaxy Watch5, Watch5 Pro, Watch4 and Watch4 Classic starting this February.

Announcing the features in a post, Samsung stated that,

Paired with a Galaxy smartphone, the latest wearable software updates bring users new ways to capture the world as they hear and see it. These software updates reflect Samsung’s continuous commitment to providing the most up-to-date experiences to existing devices.
