Samsung has paired the chipset with their most advanced cooling system for a smartphone till date, featuring a vapour chamber that is twice as big as the S22 Ultra. Regarding software updates, Samsung promises 4 OS upgrade and 5 years of security updates for the S23 Ultra.
The button placement and ports are in identical positions when compared to the S22 Ultra. On the right edge there is the power button and volume rocker. The left edge is bare, and the top edge has a microphone hole. The bottom edge has the USB Type-C port, speaker grill, a microphone hole and SIM tray. The main external difference between the S23 Ultra and its predecessor is that the sides are flatter on the S23 Ultra. This improves the ergonomics in the hand and makes it easier to hold.
