iOS 16.3.1 breaks Google Photos App

According to multiple reports on social media, as well as a report by The Verge, iPhone and iPad owners who use Google Photos are encountering issues with the newly released iOS 16.3.1 update. The Google Photos app crashes immediately upon opening, for those who have upgraded to the latest software.

It is currently unclear when the issue will be resolved and whether the fix will require an update to the Google Photos app or a server-side fix. Unfortunately, the update also includes an essential security fix for a known vulnerability that is being actively exploited, which means that Google Photos users must choose between the app and device security until the issue is resolved.
