Snapchat has added two new creative tools for Sounds: Sounds Recommendations for Lenses and Sounds Sync for Camera Roll. With these new features, users should now be able to add authorized song clips, TV and movie clips, and their own original audio to their Snaps and Stories.
The company also mentioned the expansion of the Sounds platform along with the introduction of these features, stating that videos made with music from Sounds on Snapchat have amassed over 2.7 billion views and over 183 billion views overall.
Regarding the new features, Sounds Recommendations for Lenses will allow Snapchatters to discover relevant Sounds to complement a Lens. Users can access a list of relevant Sounds to add to a Snap by tapping the Sounds icon when applying a Lens to a photo or video.
This feature is currently available in the United States and is being rolled out globally on iOS and Android.
On the other hand, Snapchatters can make montage videos that are automatically timed to the beat of audio tracks from the Sounds library using the Sounds Sync for Camera Roll feature. Snapchat users can choose 4-20 photos/videos from their camera roll.
This feature is currently available in the United States, is also being rolled out globally on iOS. It will be available for Snapchat users on Android in March.
