Google is expected to reveal details of the Pixel Fold, the company’s first foldable smartphone, at the Google I/O in May. Now, an image of the purported Pixel Fold has surfaced online. According to the Reddit user who captured the image, the blue coloured phone with thin bezels is from a Google employee.
Only one image was clear, and others were blurry, since it’s captured on a moving train in NYC. The redditor said that the the person got on at 14th street, where the Google offices are located. The UI on the phone and the camera bump on the back gave it away, and the user was trying so hard to hide the camera bump, he added.
This isn’t the first time we had seen a Pixel phone in the wild. The Pixel 4 showed on the London Underground, way before the launch, and the Pixel 3 XL was left in a taxi. We had also seen detailed unboxing videos of Pixel phones months before the launch.
Based on earlier benchmark leaks, the phone will use the Tensor G2 SoC, and pack 12 GB of RAM. It is said to feature a 64MP Sony IMX787 sensor for the main camera, a 12MP IMX386 ultra-wide camera, and a 10MP S5K3J1 telephoto camera. It might feature a 9.5MP punch-hole camera for the outer screen.
The Google Pixel Fold is said to feature a metal frame and a glass back. We should know more details about the Pixel Fold in the coming weeks, before Google officially reveals it in May.
