Samsung introduces 4nm Exynos Modem 5300

Samsung has introduced its new 5G Exynos Modem 5300. It is based on Samsung’s 4-nanometer (nm) extreme ultraviolet (EUV) processing technology compared to 7nm in 5123 which was introduced back in 2019. This improves power efficiency for extended battery life in smartphones.

It supports a range of networks, including support of 3GPP’s 5G NR Release 16 and has ultra-low latency with support for FR1, FR2 and EN-DC technology. It promises up to 10Gbps download and up to 3.87Gbps upload speeds.

Samsung recently announced that it has developed and simulated 5G NTN standard-based satellite technology using its Exynos Modem 5300 reference platform to accurately predict satellite locations and minimize frequency offsets caused by the Doppler shift.

Samsung Exynos Modem 5300 specifications
  • 3GPP Rel. 16 Sub-6GHz, mmWave, NSA/SA
  • 4nm EUV Process
