AMD has launched its most-powerful workstation graphics cards ever, the AMD Radeon PRO W7000 Series. Based on the new AMD RDNA 3 architecture, they offer higher performance and better value than the previous generation and the competition.
They are ideal for professionals who need to work with complex models, realistic images, and graphics and compute applications. Earlier, this month, AMD A620 chipset for Ryzen 7000 Series processors were announced.
AMD Radeon PRO W7000 Series graphics cards are the first workstation GPUs to use AMD’s chiplet design, which boosts performance and power efficiency. They also have the new AMD Radiance Display Engine with DisplayPort 2.1 for stunning visuals, higher resolutions and more colors.
The AMD Radeon PRO W7000 Series graphics cards include:
- The AMD Radeon PRO W7900 graphics card, for extreme workloads, with 61 TFLOPS (FP32) peak performance, 1.5X higher geomean performance on SPECviewperf 2020, and 48GB of GDDR6 memory.
- The AMD Radeon PRO W7800 graphics card, for heavy workloads, with 45 TFLOPS (FP32) peak performance and 32GB of GDDR6 memory.
Key features of the AMD Radeon PRO W7000 Series graphics cards:
AMD RDNA 3 Architecture: Offers approximately 50% more ray tracing performance per compute unit compared to the previous generation. Optimized for AEC, D&M, and M&E workflows for rendering, video editing, and multitasking.
Advanced Chiplet Design: World’s first workstation GPUs with a chiplet design for higher performance and greater efficiency. Includes a 5nm Graphics Compute Die (GCD) and six 6nm Memory Cache Die (MCD) with second-generation AMD Infinity Cache technology.
Dedicated AI Acceleration and Second-Generation Raytracing: Delivers over 2X more performance in AI compared to previous generation, and significantly higher performance in ray tracing.
Up to 48 GDDR6 Memory: Allows professionals and creators to work with large 3D models and complex timelines, and render photorealistic, raytraced images with unparalleled quality. Compatible with popular professional applications like Adobe Premiere Pro, Autodesk 3ds Max, Blender, and more.
AMD Radiance Display Engine with DisplayPort 2.1: Supports high resolutions, over 68 billion colors, and higher refresh rate displays for an ultra-immersive visual experience.
AV1 Encode/Decode: Dual media engines with AV1 encode/decode support for high resolutions, wide color gamut, and high-dynamic range enhancements.
Exceptional Workstation Performance: Complements AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors for handling demanding creative, production, and visualization workloads quickly and efficiently.
Optimized Driver Performance: Supported by AMD Software: PRO Edition with a modern and intuitive user interface. Features like Radeon PRO Image Boost and Radeon PRO Viewport Boost enhance image quality, resolution, and framerates in select applications.
Certified for Leading Professional Applications: AMD works with leading software vendors to ensure certification for demanding 24/7 environments, delivering a balance of performance and stability for professional use.
