Samsung Galaxy A24 with 6.5″ FHD+ 90Hz AMOLED display, Helio G99, up to 8GB RAM, 5000mAh battery announced

After rumours, Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A24, the company’s latest smartphone in the A series, in Vietnam. It has a 6.5-inch FHD+ Infinity-U AMOLED screen with 90Hz refresh rate and is powered by MediaTek Helio G99 SoC with up to 8GB of RAM.

Similar to the Galaxy A Series 2023, Galaxy A24 runs One UI 5.1, and the company promises 4 OS updates and 5 years of security updates. The phone has a 50MP rear camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) technology and enhanced digital video (VDIS). In addition, there is an 5MP ultra-wide-angle camera and 2MP macro camera.

The phone packs a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 25W super fast charging technology that allows 50% fast charging in 30 minutes. Even at a normal usage level, you can use the Galaxy A24 for more than two consecutive days without interruption, says the company.

Pricing and availability

The Samsung Galaxy A24 comes in Lime Green, Vampire Black and Silver colours and is priced at 6,490,000 VDN (US$ 276 / Rs. 22,600 approx.) for 6GB + 128GB model and 6,990,000 VDN (US$ 297 / Rs. 24,340 approx.) for the 8GB + 128GB model.

It is also available in 4GB RAM version in some African counties. It is available is Vietnam and is expected to roll out in other countries, including India, in coming weeks.
