motorola edge+ 2023 with 6.7″ FHD+ 165Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, IP68 waterproof body, 5100mAh battery announced


motorola has introduced the edge+, a slightly different US version of the edge 40 Pro that was introduced last month for the global markets. It has a 6.7-inch FHD+ 165Hz 10-bit pOLED screen with Dolby Vision, in-display fingerprint scanner. It is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC with 8GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

The phone has a 50MP main camera, 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera with macro option, 12MP 2X portrait telephoto lens and a 60MP front camera. It has IP68 ratings for dust and water resistance. It has ThinkShield, Moto Secure, and Family Space features. The phone runs Android 13, and the company has promised 3 years of OS upgrades and 4 years of bi-monthly security updates.

The phone has a sandblasted aluminium middle frame and a matte glass back with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection that provides a silky feel. It packs a 5100mAh battery with support for 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging as well as 5W reverse charging.

Pricing and availability

The motorola edge+ comes in Interstellar Black colour and is priced at an MSRP of $799.99 (Rs. 65,410 approx.) and in Canada at CA$1299.99.

It will be available in the U.S. universally unlocked at Best Buy, Amazon.com and Motorola.com starting May 25th with pre-order starting from May 19th. It will also be available at Boost Infinite and Boost Mobile in the coming weeks, with subsequent availability at Spectrum Mobile and Consumer Cellular. The phone will also be available in Canada at the same time.
