Nothing launched the Phone (1), the company’s first smartphone, last year. Earlier this year, Nothing’s founder Carl Pei confirmed the release of Phone (2) later this year. Today, the company has confirmed the launch of the phone this British summer, which begins in June and end in August.
The teaser video shows a new blinking red light, possibly hinting at a new rear design, but it is still expected to feature a transparent back.
At the MWC 2023, Carl Pei confirmed that the phone will be powered by Snapdragon 8 Series chipset, without revealing the exact model number. However, it should be Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC according to accidental reveal by Qualcomm executive.
In an interview a few months back, Carl said that the Phone (2) will launch in the US for the first time. He added that the phone will be ‘more premium’ than its predecessor, and that software will be the team’s primary focus. The company now has nearly 100 people working in the software team, bringing the best experience possible to both the current and new phones.
We should know more details about the Nothing Phone (2) in the coming months.
