realme 11 Pro+ Unboxing and First Impressions


realme today launched the realme 11 Pro+ as the successor to realme 10 Pro+. This retains the curved screen, battery and the Dimensity 7050 is similar to the 1080 used in the 10 Pro+. This has a 200MP camera and a different rear design. We got hold of the phone, and here is our unboxing.

The realme 11 Pro+ has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED punch-hole screen with a pixel resolution of 2412 × 1080 pixels, 61° curved glass screen with gentle rounded corners. The sunlight legibility is good as well, thanks to 950 nits peak brightness. It has 100% DCI-P3, so the colors are vibrant. The phone has 120Hz refresh rate and 360Hz touch sampling rate, so it is pretty smooth to use.

The phone has a 2160Hz high-frequency dimming technology. In dark environments (brightness below 90 nits) where DC dimming can’t work, the phone will automatically switch to 2160Hz PWM dimming mode to maintain accurate colors on display with a more comfortable eye experience, said the company.

The phone has the punch-hole that houses a 32-megapixel camera, compared to 16-megapixel in the 10 Pro+. The earpiece is present on the top, and acts as a secondary speaker. The phone as ultra-narrow border, so it has high screen-to-body ratio of about 93.65%. It also has HDR support, which works for supported YouTube videos, but it doesn’t work in Netflix.

The phone has an in-display fingerprint scanner which is quick to unlock the phone. Thanks to COP Ultra packaging technology, so it has 2.33mm ultra-narrow chin.

Powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7050 with 5G SA/NA support, it has up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM with up to 12GB of additional RAM expansion. There is up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage, an upgrade from UFS 2.2.

Coming to the button placements and ports, the power button is present on the right side along with the volume rockers. The dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top. The phone doesn’t have an expandable storage. Audio from the stereo speakers is good.

It features a 200-megapixel main camera with Samsung HP3 sensor, offering up to 4x in-sensor zoom. It also has handheld starry mode and also moon mode. The phone retains the 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera, 2-megapixel macro camera. It has 4K video 30fps recording and portrait video support up to 720p. There is OIS support for the rear camera and EIS for the front. Check out some camera samples.

Coming to the design, the phone has a vegan leather back and a lace-like strip that encircles its camera module and runs straight down to the bottom. The company has partnered with former GUCCI Prints designer Matteo Menotto and the realme Design Studio has also worked on the design of the phone.

It has a 5000mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging that can charge up to 100% in 26 minutes. This is a minor upgrade from 80W charging in the 10 Pro+

The realme 11 Pro+ starts at Rs. 27,999 for the 8GB + 256GB model and will be available from realme.com, Flipkart and offline stores from June 15th with pre-orders starting from June 9th with several offers, and the early access sale begins later today, from 6 to 8PM.
