Google has started rolling out the Pixel feature drop June 2023; this brings helpful tools and updates for your Pixel Phone, Pixel Watch, and Fitbit devices.
Pixel Phones
- Voice-activated safety checks: Use Google Assistant to start emergency sharing or schedule safety checks on your Pixel phone for added peace of mind. Emergency contacts are notified if you don’t respond within the set duration.
- Enhanced car crash detection: Pixel phones now share real-time location and call status with emergency contacts, in addition to contacting emergency services during car crashes.
- Macro Focus for video: Capture stunning close-up videos with Pixel 7 Pro’s Macro Focus feature.
- Hands-free self-timed photos: Take self-timed photos on Pixel 6 and newer phones by raising your palm to trigger the timer.
- Dynamic and emoji wallpapers: Pixel 6 and newer phones offer cinematic wallpapers that bring your memories to life in 3D scenes. Create live wallpapers using over 4,000 emoji patterns and colors.
- Improved Recorder speaker labels: Export transcripts to Google Docs, generate speaker-labeled video clips, and search for speakers within recordings using Recorder on Pixel 6 and newer phones.
- Quick access to smart home controls: Manage smart home devices from the Pixel lock screen using the redesigned Google Home app home panel.
- Smarter haptics: Pixel 6a and Pixel 7a feature adaptive haptics that adjust vibration intensity on hard surfaces.
- Adaptive Charging: Extend battery lifespan with Adaptive Charging, which predicts charging habits and gradually charges to 100% one hour before unplugging.
- New Google Assistant voices: Enjoy two new natural-sounding voices, adding to the 12 available options in U.S. English for Google Assistant.
Pixel Watches
- SpO2 monitoring: Track oxygen saturation while you sleep, gaining insights into sleep quality and overall well-being.

- Expanded language support: Google Assistant now supports additional languages, providing assistance in Italian, Portuguese, Swedish, Polish, and Spanish.
- Spotify integration: Access Spotify directly from your wrist, enjoying DJ sessions, podcasts, and favorite music with new tiles.
- Auto-pause for workouts: Pause and resume workout tracking automatically during runs, walks, or bike exercises for seamless tracking.
- Stylish Metal Links bands: Enhance the watch’s appearance with elegant Metal Links bands, available in Brushed Silver or Matte Black. Available starting June 16 online and in Google retail stores.
Fitbit Devices
- Exercise modes: Easily access a full list of exercise modes on Charge 5, Luxe, and Inspire 3 without opening the Fitbit app.
- Daily Readiness Score: Get a quick glance at your body’s readiness for workouts on all Fitbit smartwatches and trackers.
- Menstrual health tracking: Log periods, view cycle state, and edit information directly on Sense 2 and Versa 4.
- Multilingual notifications: Read incoming notifications in various languages with support for global characters and right-to-left text.
- Clock face customization: Switch clock faces on Fitbit smartwatches with a long press on the home screen.
