Google Pixel 8 and 8 Pro color variants, wallpapers surface

The upcoming Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are still a few months away from release, but leaked wallpapers have surfaced, offering a glimpse into the aesthetic of these smartphones.

According to a report by Kamila Wojciechowska on Android Authority, the leaked internal names and corresponding wallpapers indicate that Google will continue the four-color lineup introduced with the Pixel 7a.

Color Options for Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro

Notably, the Pixel 8 lineup introduces four color options, compared to the three colors offered in the current Pixel 7 series. The Pixel 8 and 8 Pro are expected to be available in Licorice (black) and Jade (green).

Additionally, the Pixel 8 will come in Haze (light blue) and Peony (yellow/orange), while the Pixel 8 Pro will feature Porcelain (white/beige) and Sky (blue).

Nature-Inspired Wallpapers

Continuing the natural theme of previous Pixel generations, the default wallpapers for the Pixel 8 series are inspired by minerals. These wallpapers, captured by Andrew Zuckerman, aim to be relatable yet inspiring, drawing motifs from the natural world. The wallpapers confirm the color assumptions mentioned earlier, with some interesting variations.

The Pixel 8’s Licorice wallpaper has an unexpected purple hue, and the Peony wallpaper leans more towards yellow/orange than pink. Each wallpaper is available in dark and light themes, impacting the overall appearance.
