YouTube Premium 1080p Enhanced bitrate rate arrives for the web

Google introduced several features for YouTube Premium subscribers, including Enhanced Video Quality on iOS earlier this year. At that time, the company said that an experiment will be coming to the Web as well soon. After a test a few weeks back, YouTube has started rolling the feature widely.

Similar to the feature available on iOS, there is a new enhanced bitrate version of 1080p HD video quality for Premium members on the web, in addition to the 1080p HD video quality that is available for everyone.

YouTube says that the enhanced bitrate version will provide extra crisp and clear videos, particularly for videos with high detail and motion. This is not available for all the video, and it is not clear which videos are eligible to get this feature.

YouTube has not announced when this feature will be coming to Android users.

Are you a YouTube Premium user? Did you get to try the enhanced bitrate option? Did you find any difference between the standard 1080p and the 1080p enhanced bitrate options? Let us know in the comments below.
