The Nothing Phone (2) has launched in India, a phone that has been hyped for weeks now. While Nothing has only made slight changes to the external design, the Phone (2) has major upgrades to its performance, battery and of course the cameras.
We have unboxed the device and here are our first impressions. In this article, we will check out some camera samples from the Phone (2)’s new camera system.
Here are the camera specifications of the Nothing Phone (2):
- 50MP main camera with f/1.88 aperture, 1/1.56″ Sony IMX890 sensor, OIS
- 50MP 114° ultra-wide camera with Samsung JN1 sensor, f/2.2 aperture, 4cm macro option
- 32MP front camera with Sony IMX615 sensor f/2.4 aperture
The Phone (2) features a similar camera setup when compared to the Phone (1). You get a primary wide sensor, an ultra-wide, and a single front-facing camera. As mentioned above, the actual sensors themselves have been upgraded and of course, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 brings a new, faster ISP.
Nothing has added a number of software features to the Camera app too. There are new options and buttons in the camera UI, enabled by the upgraded hardware of the Phone (2). In Photo mode, there is a new button to add filters, and upon clicking the cogwheel, you get a new menu with a lot of options. You can turn on Motion Photo, change the aspect ratio, toggle between 12MP and 50MP mode and turn on a 3×3 grid.
