Nothing Phone (2) Nothing OS Software Update Tracker [Update: Nothing OS 2.6 with new features, Game Mode enhancements]

Nothing launched the Nothing Phone (2) in July 2023 in the Indian market. The Nothing Phone (2) runs Nothing OS 2.0 out of the box, which is based on Android 13. The company has also promised three Android version upgrades and four year of (bi-monthly) security patch updates for the Phone (2), same as the Phone (1).

Nothing has released Nothing OS 2.6 update that weighs 87MB in size. The update brings new features,  Game Mode enhancements, and bug fixes.

New features & experience improvements

● Added support for deleting wallpaper history in Wallpaper Studio.
● Enhanced initial setup for the Weather Widget/app. Now with user-friendly prompts to add a specific city.
● Added support for displaying CMF Watch battery level in the Quick Settings Bluetooth tile.
● Optimised the Low Lag Mode experience for Nothing earbuds.

Game Mode enhancements

● Tap the left sidebar for quick access to Game Dashboard during games.
● Incoming calls during games can now be displayed in a pop-up view.
● Added support to reject third-party app calls during gameplay.
● Support for one-tap callback after rejecting a regular call.
● Optimised light notifications to show more information during games.
● Support for blocking notifications during gameplay to reduce distractions.

Bug Fixes

● Fixed an issue affecting voice and call recording in WhatsApp.

Nothing has released Nothing OS 2.5.6 update that weighs 115MB in size. The update brings new features, imrovements, bug fixes and Android security patch for June 2024.

● New option in Settings to hide/show navigation bar.
● Added a custom option for enabling/disabling the QuickSetting swipe-down page on the lock screen interface. Accessed via Settings > Lock Screen > Quick Settings.

Nothing has released Nothing OS 2.5.5 update that weighs 206MB in size bringing ChatGPT integration including ChatGPT widgets. This will be available for Phone (1) and Phone (2a) late April. This embeds system-level entry points to ChatGPT, including screenshot sharing and Nothing-styled widgets..

The update also adds Ultra XDR for camera, HDR switch in Photo and Portrait Modes in camera, RAM Booster, Recorder and Battery Widgets.

ChatGPT Integration
The following features are available with the latest ChatGPT version installed from the Play Store:
● Added a new gesture option in Nothing X to start a voice conversation with ChatGPT for Nothing Ear & Nothing Ear (a). Coming soon to our other audio products.
● Added new ChatGPT widgets to launch ChatGPT in different modes from your home screen for quicker access.
● Added a button on the screenshot and clipboard pop-up to directly paste the content to a new conversation in ChatGPT.

More features
● Camera now supports Ultra XDR. To set, head to Camera settings > Ultra XDR.
● Within the camera app, Photo and Portrait Modes now feature an HDR switch. Activate or deactivate via the settings at the top.
● Added RAM Booster feature. To set, head to Settings > System > RAM Booster.
● Added a Ring Mode option in Quick Settings for easier sound management.
● Added a new Recorder widget for effortless audio recording on-the-go.

Nothing Phone (2) Nothing OS 2.0.3, a new update, is rolling out brining new Compass widget, a new pocket mode UI, Zomato app support for Glyph progress, improved “OTG Compatibility”, and improvements. The update comes with firmware version T2.0-230906-1933 and weighs 99.39MB in size.

What’s New

● Added the Compass widget. After placing it, swipe down to see more detailed information.
● Added new UI to show when the device is in pocket mode.

● Glyph Composer is now live on the Play Store! Use the app to create and record your very own Glyph Ringtones. 
● Introducing Glyph Progress for Uber. Check the progress of an incoming Uber ride via the Glyph Interface. This feature is currently in an experimental phase, so you may experience some inconsistencies. 
● Widgets can now be added to your lock screen / Always-on-Display. Available to set up on the lock screen settings page.
