RedMagic 8S Pro with 6.8″ FHD+ 120Hz OLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version, up to 16GB RAM goes global

After the announcement in China earlier this month. RedMagic has announced the global roll-out details and pricing for the RedMagic 8S Pro, the company’s next flagship smartphone.

It is powered Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Leading Version clocked at up to 3.36GHz. Compared to up to 24GB RAM in the Chinese version, the global version has up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS4.0 storage.

It has 6.8-inch BOE OLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz refresh rate, 960Hz multi-finger screen touch sampling rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming + DC dimming, 1300 nits brightness and 93.7% screen-to-body ratio, thanks to 1.48mm narrow side bezels.

It has ICE 12.0 magic cooling system. The thermal control system has been re-engineered to include a new duct structure, cooling gel, and an enhanced 2068mm³ super large vapor chamber (VC) cooling plate with a double thickness of 0.6/0.45mm installed over the battery, further augmenting cooling.

The system also includes graphene beneath the full screen, which helps to decrease battery temperature during charging. The heat dissipation system comprises 11 layers, including the double-layer super large VC plate, a layer of graphene under the screen, and the iconic 20,000 rpm high-speed turbofan equipped with shark fin blades.

RedMagic’s turbofan operates smoothly at just 4DB and can now be customized according to the game. All iterations feature RGB fluorescent fan colors that add a cool touch, making it an ideal choice for gamers. The re-engineered cooling system ensures optimal performance and provides a comfortable touch.

There is a built-in independent gaming chip “Red Core R2” for improving shoulder keys, enhancing vibrations, defining game lighting effects, and enhancing sound effects. These have 520Hz touch sampling shoulder triggers, 960Hz multi-finger screen touch sampling rate, X-axis linear motor and 1115K+1216 ultra-linear stereo speakers, Snapdragon Sound technology for up to 96kHz output with 48ms low latency.

Regarding design, the Midnight and Platinum editions include a more refined look with 3D nano etching for a sleek finish, and the Aurora edition features the iconic transparent look of REDMAGIC products.

The phone has a 50MP 1/1.57-inch Samsung GN5 sensor and a 16MP OmniVision under-screen camera front camera. The RedMagic 8S Pro has a 6000mAh battery with 65W fast charging for 100% charge in 40 minutes.

Pricing and availability

The RedMagic 8S Pro features three editions: Midnight with 12GB RAM and 256GB, Platinum and Aurora with 16GB and 512GB, all of which come with built-in RGB lights.

With international shipping, early bird offers will be available from July 27th until August 2nd, 2023, from 8 am EST. The device will be available on Amazon at the end of August.
