Apple Watch AFib History now available in India

Apple India has announced the availability of AFib History, a new feature on Apple Watch Series 4 and later models, in India. This feature, supported by watchOS 9, enables users to track the frequency of their heart rhythm showing signs of atrial fibrillation (AFib), providing valuable insights into their condition.

Apple Watch: Monitoring AFib

Apple Watch is equipped with the ECG app and irregular rhythm notification feature, which can help identify potential signs of AFib. For individuals already diagnosed with AFib, AFib History is a groundbreaking feature that allows them to track the amount of time their heart shows signs of AFib and manage important lifestyle factors.

Factors Tracked by AFib History

AFib History gives a weekly AFib burden estimate, which shows the percentage of time the heart displays signs of AFib. Users can manage the following factors:

  • Exercise Minutes
  • Sleep
  • Weight
  • Alcohol Consumption
  • Mindful Minutes
Automatic and Manual Tracking

Apple Watch automatically logs exercise minutes, sleep, and mindful minutes during workouts, sleep, and meditation sessions. Users can also manually log these details or use third-party apps from the App Store to track each factor.

Setting up AFib History

To set up AFib History, ensure that your iPhone and Apple Watch are updated to the latest versions of iOS and watchOS, respectively. Follow these steps:

1. Open the Health app on your iPhone.
2. Tap on “Browse” and then select “Heart.”
