OPPO Reno10 Unboxing and First Impressions

OPPO launched the Reno10 smartphone in India today, as the successor to the Reno9, but it is actually the successor to the Reno8 in India, since the Reno9 series didn’t launch in India. The Reno10 has several upgrades to the Reno8. Here are our first impressions.

The phone has a 6.7-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen which a centre punch-hole. Since it has up to 950 nits brightness, the screen is bright even outdoors, and the 100% DCI-P3 and sRGB wide color gamut offers vibrant colours. It has 120Hz refresh rate screen and up to 240Hz touch sampling rate. There is also 2160Hz PWM dimming to avoid flickering in low brightness.

Inside the tiny punch-hole, there is a 32-megapixel camera with Omnivision OV32C sensor. The earpiece grill is present on the top edge that doubles up as a secondary speaker.

It has an ultra narrow bottom bezel. The phone features an in-display fingerprint scanner. It runs Android 13, and the phone will get two years of OS and three years of security updates.

It is powered by Dimensity 7050 SoC, compared to Dimensity 1300 in the Reno8, but the Chinese version of the Reno10 has a Snapdragon 778G SoC which is slightly better than the Dimensity 7050 when it comes to gaming performance. The phone has 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 256GB UFS2.2 storage.

Coming to the button placements and ports, the power button is present on the right side along with the volume rockers. There is nothing on the left. The hybrid dual SIM slot, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is on the top, along with an IR blaster and vent for the secondary speaker.

The phone has a glass back. The Ice Blue that we have has a sparkling, shimmering effect that shifts in the light and features OPPO Glow for an icy crystalline look that’s still smooth to the touch. The Silvery Grey also has the OPPO Glow design.
