DJI Air 3 with 1/1.3″ CMOS dual 48MP cameras announced

DJI has announced the release of the DJI Air 3, a powerful new addition to the Air Series. The DJI Air 3 features dual primary cameras, a wide-angle and a 3x medium telephoto, for compressed shots and medium focal length aerial photography.

The DJI Air 3 features a compact design with a 1/1.3-inch CMOS wide-angle camera and a 1/1.3-inch CMOS 3x medium tele camera, providing consistent image quality and diverse camera options.

The wide-angle camera has a pixel size of 2.4μm, a 24mm format equivalent, and an aperture of F1.7. On the other hand, the 3x Medium Tele Camera has a pixel size of 2.4μm, a 70mm format equivalent, and an aperture of F2.8 with 3x optical zoom.

Equipped with dual 1/1.3-inch CMOS sensors supporting dual native ISO, the DJI Air 3 can shoot 4K/60fps HDR video and 4K/100fps max. video without FOV cropping. With 48% more max flight time of up to 46 minutes and a new battery charging hub for power accumulation, pilots can enjoy extended flight sessions and greater flexibility, even in remote areas.

The DJI Air 3 introduces omnidirectional obstacle sensing with fisheye lenses in the front and back, and binocular lenses at the bottom, utilizing APAS 5.0 for obstacle avoidance during shooting. The O4 video transmission system allows up to 20 km transmission distance and supports 1080p/60fps live feeds for a smoother viewing experience.

Intelligent features like FocusTrack, QuickShots, 2.7K vertical shooting, MasterShots, Night Mode, Hyperlapse, and Slow Motion offer limitless creative possibilities. SmartPhoto 3.0 automatically selects optimal imaging settings, while QuickTransfer enables wireless download of media to a smartphone.

The LightCut app facilitates intelligent highlight recognition and one-tap editing. Tilt-Shift Effects add a unique miniature look to shots taken with the 3x medium tele camera.

Waypoint Flight, a new Air Series feature, allows for pre-planned flight routes and shooting actions, ideal for complex camera movements and timelapse videos. It also supports additional accessories such as DJI Air 3 ND Filters Set, DJI 100W USB-C Power Adapter, and DJI 65W Car Charger.
