vivo V3 6nm imaging chip with 4K portrait video announced

At the Vivo Image Festival in China yesterday, vivo unveiled its latest self-developed imaging chip, the V3. Using 6nm process technology, the V3 chip has a 30% increase in energy efficiency compared to its predecessor.

Its new multi-concurrent AI perception-ISP architecture and second-generation FIT interconnection system result in lower power consumption and better algorithm performance. Additionally, the chip enables a smooth connection between the V chip and SoC through its flexible algorithm deployment.

First 4K Movie Portrait Video on Android

With the V3 chip’s capabilities, vivo also presented the first 4K movie portrait video on Android, boasting movie-level bokeh blur, skin quality optimization, and color processing.

Furthermore, it achieves 4K-level shooting with post-editing functionality, enabling users to non-destructively adjust blurring and focus positions in the photo album.

vivo-Zeiss Collaboration for Clear Picture Performance

Collaborating with Zeiss, vivo equips the main camera of the next-generation X-series flagship model with the new Zeiss T coating, which incorporates Multi-ALD technology to reduce lens reflectivity.

This technology reduces reflectivity in the visible light band, leading to improved picture clarity. Future plans include launching a telephoto lens adhering to the “Vario-Apo-Sonnar” standard, promising enhanced zoom performance and quality.

Film-Level 3D Imaging Lab in Chongqing

vivo’s 3D imaging laboratory in Chongqing independently developed a film-level light field system, enabling the creation of highly realistic and high-fidelity visual effects in virtual environments.

This system reconstructs “pore-level” 3D models of the human body, accurately capturing facial expressions, body gestures, and interactions.

vivo AIGC Algorithm for Virtual Content Creation

vivo utilizes the AIGC algorithm to create high-quality virtual content in portrait photography. This allows users to capture the essence of all four seasons in their travel photos by combining virtual and real scenes. The AIGC algorithm also enables a variety of portrait attribute edits, such as lighting, age, hairstyle, and expression.

vivo Texture Color Upgrades

vivo launched the vivo Texture Color, offering rich color and delicate color gradation transitions with independent color adjustments.

The X90 series has already been upgraded, and the X80 series, Vivo X Fold 2, and X Flip are expected to receive the upgrade in September.
