Samsung Galaxy SmartTag 2 design surfaces in live images

Samsung is currently working on the Galaxy SmartTag 2, a new iteration of its smart tracker technology. The device was recently spotted in the Bluetooth database and has now surfaced through an FCC application that includes a live photo of the product.

Redesigned Shape and Features

Unlike its predecessor, the original Galaxy SmartTag with a rectangular shape, the Galaxy SmartTag 2 features an oblong design. Notably, the new version comes with a larger hole for keyrings, potentially big enough to pass a finger through.

The live photo of the Galaxy SmartTag 2 does not explicitly display the “2” in its moniker; however, the FCC application confirms that it is indeed the “Galaxy SmartTag 2” with the model number EI-T5600.

In its previous version, the Galaxy SmartTag was available in two versions—one with standard connectivity and the other with Ultra Wideband (UWB) support.

Based on the available information, the FCC application suggests that the Galaxy SmartTag 2 might only have one variation, combining both Bluetooth and UWB connectivity.

Expected Release Date

Although there is no official announcement regarding the launch date, it is speculated that Samsung may unveil the Galaxy SmartTag 2 sometime early next year or even before the 2023 holiday season. However, until an official announcement is made, these details should be taken with caution.
