Xiaomi just launched the Redmi 12 5G, the company’s latest budget 5G smartphone in India, as it had promised. It has a 6.79-inch FHD+ 90Hz LCD screen with a centre punch-hole, and is the first phone to be powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 SoC globally.
It has up to 8GB of RAM with 8GB of virtual RAM, up to 256GB storage, has a crystal glass design, is just 8.17mm slim and also comes with IP53 ratings for dust and splash resistance.
The phone runs Android 13 with MIUI 14, and the company has confirmed 2 years of Android updates and 3 years of security updates. It has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, packs a 5000mAh battery and comes with 18W fast charging.

The Redmi 12 5G comes in Moonstone Sliver, Pastel Blue and Jade Black colours and is priced at Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB + 128GB model, the 6GB + 128GB model costs Rs. 13,499 and the top-end 8GB + 256GB model costs Rs. 15,499.
It will be available from Amazon.in, in addition to mi.com, and Xiaomi retail stores offline starting from August 4th.
