Google has introduced four new features for its Chrome mobile browser to make it easier for users to find the information they need while on the go. These features include tools for finding trip inspiration and keeping up with trending topics.
Smart Search Suggestions on Eligible Sites
When using Chrome on iOS or Android and clicking on the address bar, relevant search suggestions will now appear. For instance, if you’re reading an article about Japan for an upcoming trip, you’ll see a new section called “Related to this page” with suggestions for other searches like local restaurants or tourist attractions in Japan.
Stay Updated with Trending Searches
Chrome on Android now shows trending Google searches directly in the address bar. By opening a new tab and tapping the address bar, you can scroll down to see the latest trends.
Clicking on a trending search will provide search results and more information. This feature will be available for Chrome on iOS later this year.
Discover Related Searches with Touch to Search
Introduced a few years ago on Android, Touch to Search allows you to quickly search a word or phrase from a webpage. Now, it also offers related searches in a carousel format.
If you come across a topic you want to learn more about while reading an article, Touch to Search will display related search options for easy access to more information.
Expanded Suggestions in the Address Bar
When typing in the Chrome address bar on your phone, you’ll now see 10 suggestions (up from six) to assist you in refining your search.
The most pertinent suggestions will be displayed at the top, and by scrolling, you can view additional options. This feature is now available for both Android and iOS users.
