Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could get a 50MP telephoto camera

We are still a few months away before the Galaxy S24 series launches, and rumours have already started flowing in. Earlier rumour revealed that the only camera upgrade in the Galaxy S24 Ultra will be the 10x zoom sensor, which will undergo minor improvements.

Today, leaker Ice Universe has posted that the Galaxy S24 Ultra will get a 50MP telephoto camera with 3x zoom. So, both the telephoto cameras should get an upgrade in the Ultra next year.

To remind you, the S23 Ultra has a 10MP Telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. With the increase in camera resolution, the image quality, and the zoom quality should get better in the S24 Ultra.

The company has been exploring continuous zoom lens technology for telephoto cameras, but this is not expected to be used in the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to stick to the same quad-camera setup, and retain the the 200 MP main camera with ISOCELL HP2 sensor. It is not clear if the ultra-wide camera will get an upgrade, since the company has only been using a 12MP ultra-wide camera.

Earlier reports revealed that Samsung may bring back Exynos chips (Exynos 2400) with the Galaxy S24 series, departing from the current year’s models. We should know more details in the coming months.
