KRAFTON to invest Rs. 1200 crore in India to bolster Gaming and Startup Ecosystem


KRAFTON, a prominent South Korean gaming company known for creating BGMI (BATTLEGROUNDS MOBILE INDIA), has revealed a significant commitment to invest $150 (Rs. 1200 crore) million in India over the next two to three years. This move showcases KRAFTON’s strong dedication to nurturing the gaming and startup ecosystem in the country.

KRAFTON’s investments are said to extend beyond game development studios, encompassing diverse sectors such as Esports, multimedia entertainment, content creation, audio platforms, the creator economy, and deep tech.

This strategic approach aims to not only support existing ventures but also drive innovation and push India to the forefront of the global gaming landscape.

By adopting an India-centric strategy, KRAFTON is striving to foster comprehensive growth within India’s gaming industry. The company has already made significant strides in this direction since its initial investment in March 2021.

Notably, KRAFTON has injected around $140 million (Rs. 1028 crore) into 11 innovative Indian startups, positioning itself as a prominent strategic investor within the country.
