SK hynix has announced that it has begun supplying the industry’s first 24-gigabyte (GB) Low Power Double Data Rate 5X (LPDDR5X) mobile DRAM package to its customers, after it started mass production of LPDDR5X in November 2022.
The 24GB LPDDR5X package operates in the ultra-low voltage range of 1.01 to 1.12V set by the Joint Electron Device Engineering Council (JEDEC), and can process 68GB of data per second, which is equivalent to transferring 13 FHD (Full-HD) movies in one second, said the company.
SK hynix confirmed that the Oneplus Ace 2 Pro, which will be unveiled next week, will use SK hynix’s 24 GB LPDDR5X package.
Regarding 24 GB RAM in the Ace 2 Pro, OnePlus said that the phone usees exclusive self-developed “memory genetic recombination” technology, and the world’s first “global memory architecture” on the 24 GB RAM version.
The “memory genetic reorganization” technology is the most thorough reconstruction of the bottom layer of Android memory, including a number of core technologies.
“Instantaneous bandwidth” technology, which increases the amount of data captured in nanoseconds by a full 16 times, greatly improving memory access efficiency, it added.
It also said that with the support of super large RAM and the exclusive self-developed “memory genetic recombination” technology, the 24GB version supports 54 commonly used applications to be open, and the company said that it achieved a record of keeping 41 commonly-used applications open for 72 hours.
OnePlus also said that the Ace 2 Pro has also passed TÜV SÜD’s 48-month smooth A-level certification, allowing customers to use it smoothly for more than 4 years.
