Ola S1X models and S1 Pro 2nd Gen launched starting at an introductory price of Rs. 79,999

At its event, Ola Electric introduced the new S1 Pro 2nd Gen along with 3 new S1X models – S1X+, S1X 3kWh and S1X 2kWh models.

What’s new in Ola S1 Pro 2nd Gen?

The S1 Pro 2nd gen now offers up to 170KM true range, up to 195 KM ARAI range, up to 120 Kmph top speed and can do 0 to 40 in just 2.6 seconds, compared to 2.9 seconds in the 1st gen. There are new Amethyst and Stellar Blue colours, in addition to Midnight Blue, Black and White colours.

The S1 Pro 2nd Gen integrates the motor control unit into the motor, reducing the parts from 5 to 1, it also gets a 11KW peak power, a 30% increase compared to the 1st gen.

The battery has 33% less parts, and the number of electronic units have been reduced from 10 to 5. The wire harness diameter has been reduced by 40% and the weight has been reduced by 8%, and the total energy consumption of the system has been reduced by 25%, said the company.

It uses hybrid frame architecture, and the side structure now requires 70% lesser parts that have reduced the weight, and the rear frame is now stronger. All these reduce the cost, while improving the performance, according to the company.

Ola S1X

Cheaper than the Ola S1 Air, the S1X series come in three models that have the same 6 kW peak power, but these have a 5-inch LCD screen, and the entry-level model doesn’t run MoveOS.

MoveOS 4

Ola has also announced the MoveOS 4, the fourth major upgrade to the software.

This will bring Ola Maps Geofencing and Time fencing, Ride Journal, Garage mode, Concert mode, faster hypercharge, improved charging time prediction, improvements to regen and hillhold, new descent hillhold, energy insights, biometric app lock, app widgets, cruise in eco, better range, personalised proximity, auto turn off indicator, new trip meters, headphone call and music control, take me home lights, vacation mode, call settings hill hold and regen settings control from app, faster OTA, faster touch response, faster doc and contact sync, faster pairing, call from favourites, dark mode and Tamper detection.

MoveOS 4 beta will begin September 15, and will roll out to everyone in October.

  • Ola S1X (3kWh battery) is priced at Rs. 99,999. Available to order from today, August 15th and deliveries begin December 2023. Orders from today, till August 21st can get it at an introductory price of Rs. 89,999
  • Ola S1X (2kWh battery) is priced at Rs. 89,999. Available to order from today, August 15th and deliveries begin December 2023. Orders from today, till August 21st can get it at an introductory price of Rs. 79,999
4 New Concept Motorcycles

Ola also showed 4 new concept electric motorcycles – Ola Cruiser, Ola Adventure, Ola Roadster and Ola Diamondhead.

The company did not reveal the specifications, but said that these will enter production in 2024, and will also roll out by the end of 2024. It has also started reservations on its website.
