In line with the June announcement, Telegram has launched Stories. This new feature offers a dual camera mode, detailed privacy settings, and adjustable duration options.
This latest update, which coincides with the 10th anniversary of Telegram, includes these additions.
Telegram Stories
Telegram now offers Stories, a new feature that displays short updates at the top of your screen. Stories appear as an expandable section, allowing you to view them without losing sight of your chat list and folders.
Dual Camera Mode
Stories can capture moments from both your device’s front and rear cameras simultaneously. You can easily switch between cameras while recording to ensure a comprehensive view.
Adding Stickers, Locations, and Captions
Stories feature Telegram’s media editor, enabling you to enhance your updates with text, drawings, stickers, and location tags.
You can also include captions for more context, tagging friends or adding links. Additionally, you can include images from your gallery or search for GIFs and web pictures.
Enhanced Privacy Settings
When sharing a story, you can choose from four privacy settings: Everyone, My Contacts, Close Friends, and Selected Contacts.
Each option can be customized to include or exclude specific users. You can also create a list of users who won’t see your story, and disable screenshots to maintain privacy.
Stories in Profiles
Stories can last for 6, 12, 24, or 48 hours. You can display them on your profile in a visually appealing grid format.
This allows both old and new contacts to see your highlights for as long as you decide. Each story on your profile can have its own privacy settings.
Editing Made Easy
Unlike other platforms, you can edit any aspect of your story at any time without starting over.
This includes adjusting visibility, captions, text, stickers, and more. To edit a story, access it on the original device and tap the Edit option.
View Statistics and Privacy
When someone views your story, you’ll see their name in the viewer list. You can filter and sort this list to track reactions and views.
For premium users, Stealth Mode offers added privacy by erasing recent views and hiding their viewing activity for a limited time.
Availability
Telegram’s newest update is now live. Users on Android can download the update from Google Play or Telegram’s website, while those on iOS can find it in the App Store. This update advances Telegram for Android to version 10.0.2.
Commenting on the announcement, Du Rove, Founder and CEO of Telegram, said,
Over the course of a decade, Telegram has amassed more than 800 million active users, a testament to the power of word-of-mouth. Our continuous updates and enhancements have reshaped the landscape of modern messaging.

The phased introduction of stories for all users today signifies the dawn of a new era in Telegram’s history. While the past decade has been thrilling, it is in the next 10 years that Telegram will truly come into its own.
