Indian Tablet market grew 29% QoQ in Q2, 5G Tablets up 7% YoY: Report


Apple has secured the top position in the Indian tablet market, holding an impressive 25% market share despite the overall market declining by 22% year-over-year (YoY).

According to a recent report from CyberMedia Research, the iPad 9 and 10 series have played a significant role in this achievement, capturing 42% and 22% market share, respectively.

Indian Tablet Market Q2 2023

The Indian tablet market grew by 29% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ) in Q2 2023, driven by the adoption of Wi-Fi-enabled tablets in the education and healthcare sectors. 5G tablets also showed a 7% year-on-year (YoY) growth, with Wi-Fi tablet shipments surging by 12% YoY to claim a majority share of 54% in shipments.

The premium tablet segment showcased remarkable growth, increasing by 48% QoQ. Larger-screen tablets, particularly those with displays of 10 inches or more, have emerged as a favorite among Indian consumers.

Samsung and Lenovo secured the second and third positions in the tablet market with 25% and 23% market shares respectively. Samsung’s Tab A8 (Wi-Fi+ 4G) and Tab A7 Lite (Wi-Fi + 4G) stood out with substantial market shares in different price ranges. Lenovo’s Tab M10 (HD) 2nd Gen (Wi-Fi) and Tab M8 HD (Wi-Fi) series found success in the value-for-money tablet segment.
