TCL has unveiled the NXTPAPER smartphone series. This includes the TCL 40 NXTPAPER and TCL 40 NXTPAPER 5G, making them the world’s first smartphones to offer a paper-like visual experience with full color.
TCL NXTPAPER Technology
TCL’s in-house developed NXTPAPER technology offers full color electronic paper-like displays. Praised by consumers and media, these smartphones focus on eye comfort, certified by TÜV for low blue light.
Display settings adjust to surroundings for comfortable viewing, and the phones minimize glare and fingerprints, making outdoor reading smoother. The tailored NXTPAPER UI allows users to select full-color or black-and-white displays, adding flexibility.
TCL 40 NXTPAPER
The TCL 40 NXTPAPER 5G features a 6.78” FHD+ NXTPAPER display, dual speakers, and immersive 3D boom sound powered by DTS for great audiovisual experiences. It has a 32MP selfie camera and a 50MP rear triple camera system, including a 5MP ultra-wide and a 2MP macro camera.
The device has a sleek 7.89mm design, a stylish 2D back cover, 256GB storage, and 8GB RAM. It can expand its virtual RAM by an additional 8GB. The smartphone comes with a compatible T-pen for note-taking.

The TCL 40 NXTPAPER features a 6.6″ HD+ NXTPAPER display with a paper-like viewing experience and NXTPAPER UI. It has 256GB storage and 6GB RAM, expandable by 6GB of virtual RAM.
The smartphone boasts a triple rear camera system, including a 50MP primary camera, 2MP depth sensor, and 2MP macro sensor, along with an 8MP front camera. The AI camera feature enhances captures, and the AI Color Video mode highlights subjects in color against black and white backgrounds.

The TCL 40 NXTPAPER will first go on sale in Europe in September, while the TCL 40 NXTPAPER 5G will first go on sale in Europe in October. Both models will be available in more countries globally later this year.
