Pixel 8 Pro render in ‘SKY’ blue shows off design, temperature sensor

As we approach Google’s October 4 event, more information about the upcoming Pixel 8 Pro is surfacing. Dylan Roussel (@evowizz) on X (formerly Twitter) shared high-quality images of the Pixel 8 Pro.

He also provided screenshots from the Pixel Phone Simulator, displaying a 3D model of the device, including the SIM card tray. The new images confirm that the blue color variant is named “Sky,” not “Sky Blue” as previously rumored.

Evan Blass (@evleaks) also shared a blue render of the Pixel 8 Pro, revealing the redesigned camera setup with a single cutout for three cameras, a flash, and a temperature sensor. The phone appears to have slightly rounded corners.

The Pixel 8 Pro will be available in the stunning blue color, alongside black and off-white options that match the Pixel Fold. Blass also shared screenshots showing the default wallpapers for the Pixel 8 Pro’s homescreen.

In terms of specifications, previous reports suggest that the base storage for both Pixel 8 models will be 128GB, with an additional 256GB option for the regular Pixel 8 and 512GB for the Pixel 8 Pro.

Google is also rumored to provide five years of Android updates for the Pixel 8, which is an improvement from previous models that received five years of security updates.

Launch date

The Pixel 8 series is scheduled to launch, along with the expected launch of the Pixel Watch 2. The ‘Made by Google’ in-person launch event will be held in New York City at 10 am ET (7:30 PM IST) on October 4, 2023.
