moto g54 5G Unboxing and First Impressions

motorola just launched the moto g54 5G smartphone in g series in India as the successor to last year’s g52, which was a 4G phone. This gets a faster Dimensity 7020 SoC, up to 12GB of RAM, bigger 6000mAh battery and faster 30W charging while retaining the Stereo speakers and Dolby Atmo. Here we have the first impressions of the phone.

The moto g54 has a 6.5-inch FHD+ LCD screen with a centre punch-hole, 120Hz refresh rate, and up to 560 nits peak brightness. It also has HDR support that works on YouTube. The screen has Panda glass protection.

Powered by Dimensity 7020 SoC, which has similar performance as the Dimensity 930, the phone has up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage.

The phone has a 8MP camera inside the punch-hole. There is an earpiece on the top edge which doubles up as a secondary speaker. The phone also has Dolby Atmos.

It has a slightly thicker bottom bezel, which is fine in the price range.

The power button, which integrates a fingerprint scanner, is present on the right side along with the volume rockers. The hybrid SIM and microSD card slot that accepts cards up to 1TB is present on the left side. The 3.5mm audio jack, primary microphone, USB Type-C port and the loudspeaker grill are present on the bottom. The secondary microphone is present on the top and has Dolby Atmos branding.

There is a 50MP rear camera with OIS, along with a 8MP ultra-wide camera that has macro and depth fuctions since it has autofocus. The phone supports 1080p video recording with both the front and rear cameras. Check out some camera samples.

The phone is 8.89mm thick, and has an acrylic back with a matte finish that feels smooth to touch, and the phone also has IP52 ratings for dust and splash resistance. It has a 6000mAh battery with support for 30W fast charging.

Priced starting at Rs. 15,999 for the 8GB + 128GB version, it will be available from Flipkart with launch offers from September 13th. Full review of the phone will be up soon.
