GoPro HERO12 Black with 5.3K HDR video launched in India


GoPro has released the HERO12 Black camera, along with the Max Lens Mod 2.0 accessory.

The camera offers longer battery life, excellent video stabilization, high dynamic range photos, high-resolution videos, and impressive slow-motion capabilities. The Max Lens Mod 2.0 accessory widens the field of view and comes with a more durable lens. It provides GP-Log and Look Up Tables (LUTs) for enhanced control during post-production editing and color grading.

The HERO12 Black supports wireless audio recording from devices like Apple AirPods, making it perfect for vlogging and narration. It offers top-notch video stabilization, even when the camera rotates 360 degrees, and is versatile with various aspect ratios.

It excels in capturing night effects and offers useful tools like Interval Photo. GoPro subscribers enjoy automatic cloud uploads with unlimited storage, and the camera is tough, waterproof, and offers a damaged camera replacement policy.

The HERO12 Black provides wireless audio support, an improved user interface, GP-Log with LUTs, wireless timecode sync, smaller file sizes with excellent image quality, and a new Vertical Capture Mode for sharing vertical 9:16 aspect ratio 4K videos on social media. It’s suitable for both beginners and pros, offering a blend of convenience and control.

The Max Lens Mod 2.0 enhances the HERO12 Black’s capabilities by offering an impressive 177° field of view at 4K resolution and various field-of-view settings.

GoPro introduces a collapsible 48-inch extension pole with 1/4-20 mounting threads, compatible with HERO12 Black and other GoPro cameras. The package includes a waterproof Bluetooth shutter remote for easy control of the camera.

Quik Editing App for Desktop

GoPro is launching the Quik desktop app exclusively for subscribers, offering powerful editing capabilities on desktop computers. It seamlessly syncs with the mobile app for flexibility and convenience.

The Quik desktop app will be available for Mac in November 2023 and for Windows in Summer 2024, enhancing the editing experience for GoPro users.

Pricing and availability

The GoPro HERO12 Black camera is up for pre-order at USD 399.99 (Rs. 33,260 approx.), and the Max Lens Mod 2.0 can be pre-ordered for USD 99.99 (Rs. 8,315 approx.) (or USD 79.99 (Rs. 6,650 approx.) for GoPro subscribers) on GoPro.com.

  • They’ll hit stores worldwide on September 13, alongside the HERO12 Black Creator Edition, priced at USD 599.99 (Rs. 49,890 approx.).
  • The Extension Pole + Waterproof Shutter Remote, coming in October 2023.
  • The Quik desktop app will be available for Mac in November 2023 and for Windows in Summer 2024.

  • Standard Variant: The GoPro Hero 12 Black is priced at Rs. 45,000.
  • Creators Edition: If you opt for the Creators Edition, it’s available at Rs. 65,000, which includes the Media Mod, Light Mod, and Volta grip accessories.
  • Color Options: The Hero 12 Black is available in black with blue accents on its body and “12 Black” lettering.

Starting September 13, you can purchase the GoPro Hero12 Black from both online and offline retailers across India. Pre-orders are open now, and the Max Lens Mod 2.0 will be available later in November.
