iPhone to use Snapdragon 5G modem till 2026


Qualcomm today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Apple to supply Snapdragon 5G Modem‑RF Systems for smartphone launches in 2024, 2025 and 2026.

Apple is already using Snapdragon X65 4nm modem in iPhone 14. This confirms that Apple will be using Snapdragon 5G modems in the iPhone 15, and the models releasing till 2026.

Apple has been developing their own 5G modem chips for many years now, and even acquired Intel’s smartphone modem business to speed up development.

It was rumoured that Apple replacing Qualcomm modem soon in favour of their own chips, but delays in the development process have extended the deadline.

The agreement with Apple reinforces Qualcomm’s track record of sustained leadership across 5G technologies and products, said the company.
